Hey 2020, What's up?

On New Year's Eve, my husband and I went to a New Year's Party with my friend and her husband along with a few friends of theirs. It was the first year that my husband and I actually went somewhere for New Year's Eve since we have been married. It was a fun night that I am happy to have as a memory.
I started the year off in late January by getting a Deva Cut for the first time ever. It was such an amazing experience for this curly haired girl. I've been on a curly hair journey ever since. It's fun to learn new ways and methods to take care of my hair in a natural way that results in my curls looking better than ever. When I was a little girl, I had no idea how to deal with it, so I would just brush it out dry and put it in a pony tail. When I got into 6th grade, I straightened it every day to look like the other girls.
Since Thanksgiving of last year, my mom has joined me on my Zumba journey. I was so excited because I was trying to get her to come with me for months! I've been going off and on for about two years now. She has joined me and now we are officially weekly Zumba buddies! What better Zumba buddy than your mom? Yep, she's pretty awesome! We got Fit-bits as well, so we are on a healthy journey together!
My Zumba Instructor is the coolest most hip lady that taught us many cool hip hop moves. I am thankful for meeting new people in my area and for the fun experiences. I am not a gym person but I sure do love to dance! It doesn't feel like "exercise" when you get to shake it with other cool peeps.

Artsy Fartsy Water Coloring Girl

A few years ago, my mom got me some watercolors. We started painting together here and there. What a fun experience to paint with my mom with how talented she is.

I loved the way good watercolors felt. It wasn't the easiest to control, but at the same time I loved that there was part of it that I couldn't control. I have made some beautiful messes on paper. It's cool how it's translucent at times. Watercolor paint always looks different when it dries. I love this part the best!

I have always loved the arts, but when I was in High School I focused on music in Band. I started having fun with other things as I can't always play my saxophone in my house because it's "loud" other people say. Laughs.

Painting has become my way to de-stress and my out. I love turning on acoustic music and painting. My mom told me to paint things that I love. It makes it so much more meaningful when you're done if you're passionate about it versus hating the subject or even if it's unfamiliar. Here are a few pictures I have painted.

A big shout out to my husband and parents for being so supportive and encouraging when I show ya'll pictures I have painted!

Just in time for Fall.

I painted this picture from a picture in a calendar.

This picture of the cat also came out of a calendar.

My dad and I decided to have a night of painting an orange. It was so much fun!

His is on the left and mine is on the right.

I used a light box to sketch the details of the faces, but this is a picture of me and my best friend Gwen.

Jeffrey wanted me to paint this for him. I got the design from a logo off a t-shirt.

I painted this from a picture in a magazine.

I painted this from a picture I found online.

This is a birthday card I painted for a friend with tons of glitter added.

Highlights of 2017

It's not too late to recap the memories from last year, is it? Nah I didn't think so.

May 11, 2017
I graduated College from Texarkana College with an Associates degree. What what! And without any student loans. Couldn't have done this without the love and support from my husband and my family!

May 25, 2017
My mom got the sweetest wild kitten and named her "Precious" & "Poko". She has torti-tude.

May 26, 2017
My brother Alex graduated High School. Yay!

July 14, 2017
Jeffrey and I head off to Missouri to visit with his grandparents and the next day we all head off to Michigan for an adventure! The total count of the entire group was 12 people. This is on Lake Michigan which was a lot like a beach.

August 28, 2017
My first day at Texas A&M University. I didn't sleep the whole night before because I was nervous and excited!

October 5, 2017
My first day observing at a school with a group. This was actually really fun! We went to a private school. There's my friend Liz cheesing for the camera.

October 7, 2017
Jeffrey and I went to a Masquerade Ball at Texas A&M University. There was not as much dancing as I had hoped, but it was fun dressing up. Look at that cool mask Jeffrey has on!

December 14, 2017
My two favorite people, my mom and husband, and I did a Painting Night together. This was so much fun! Arting and farting around, you know.

And that's all for now folks.

Sunday Happiness

Sundays are the best day of the week. There isn't work to worry about, stress to think about, a peaceful relaxing day, and church to look forward to going to. Praise the Lord!

Today was one of the best days I have had in a while. Me and my husband woke up a little later than expected due to watching Impractical Jokers till 2 AM after a fruit run to Walmart. (I was craving guavas and mangos)

This past week has been a bit stressful so I wanted to do something nice for Jeffrey. I surprised him with taking him to one of his favorite places to eat. He was so excited when we got to Firehouse Subs. Oh the joy of their yummy subs and never ending drink fountains! My favorite chips they have are salt and vinegar. Jeffrey loves the spicy bbq sauce. Hurray to the law enforcement discounts they give as well. I give it a thumbs up.

Afterwards we headed to Wright Patman Lake to do some fishing. Fishing in December? Yes I said it. I never would have thought the weather could be fishing weather at this time of the year. It was just beautiful today though. Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I'm just kidding! It was sunny at the temperature of 68 degrees with a slight breeze. There was not many out today which made it nice. My hubby is so sweet. He is patient enough to bait my hook for me each time. He has taught me a lot about fishing. We were so sure we would get a fish, yet we did not catch any fish, but it was still lots of fun. (Guess the fish weren't hungry today) However, I did manage to get my line caught in a stranger's line by accident. Good thing people that fish are super nice and friendly. Nothing beats the way the fish bite in the summertime here in Texas.

By the time we were done, it was 3 PM.  We went home to relax and chill out for a little bit. Jeffrey burned some trash and leaves while I cooked a chicken and cleaned the house up. I cleaned my car, our kitchen, the insides of our fridge and freezer, and washed some clothes. I was feeling productive!

Three hours later, we left to go to our church's music event. It was amazing! They had lots of people sing gospel songs. Someone sang my favorite song "Mary Did You Know" also the song we got married to. It's a special song in my heart. You could tell Jesus was in the room. They had a reception afterwards and that was delicious. There's too many awesome foods to name. All I can say is those ladies worked hard and had some real good recipes. Nothing made from a box. Later we ran into our pastor and visited with him and got prayed for. It was a great time!

I am thankful for these days with my husband to enjoy. I love spending wonderful time with him because we will always have great memories together to cherish. You never know how long life will be, so it's very important to be happy each and every day.

Matthew 19:6 "So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate."

Organizing Music with Moodify

I suck at organizing and labeling things; this includes music. I just dump everything everywhere and forget what playlists are for what. I’v...
